PRISON BREAK

 “For the present is the point at which time touches eternity”, Writes C.S. Lewis. We are always in constant battle between what we know and what we feel; Head vs Heart. The question always remains, how exactly do we break out of this war? Truth be told, we are confined only by the walls we build ourselves or as somebody once rightly put it, “We are captives of our own identities, living in prisons of our own creations”.

More often that not, we suffer from identity crisis. Our true belonging or personality is overshadowed by our situations, from loosing our best friends and multiple breakups to negative remarks from people around us. You look in the mirror and the stranger staring at you is not the angel you used to know. You try to shed the new skin so that you can rescue the old you, but whenever you come close to redemption, you take a step back and you feel wasted, just like a failed download.( Downloading, 97%…98%…99%,,,,*DOWNLOAD FAILED*) Your mind then arrests you in a prison you find it hard to escape. But who said life was meant to be an easy ride? Are some of this war worth fighting for? Should we always draw our swords to kill every fly that comes around us?

The same way you would say the entire alphabet because you can’t remember what letter comes next, is the exact same way you’ll keep on starting and trying to win the ultimate war after loosing the battles. ” I sometime wonder if you have been sent to the world for you own amusement!”, C.S. Lewis is puzzled. What will keep you moving is the virtue of controlling your desires and impulses  while staying focused on what needs to get done or as others will refer to  as discipline, to achieve you goals. Truth is, we are sometimes afraid to give our dreams a shot, for what we want looks glamorous, fun and exiting from the outside but in real world it is unyielding. We give so much attention to every dog that barks along our road to redemption and so we are slowed down or our heads are turned. And because this road has no map or GPS, we struggle to navigate or retrace our paths and so we are stuck on the boarder.

Real warriors,(c.c David), don’t forget the competitive advantage of being underestimated by the “I have an army to build and a country to run” kind of people. We are greatly reduced to loafers and our only yearn is to have a battery life of 1000%. We continually step over our moral values to act cool. We yell ‘You Only Live once (YOLO) forgetting also, You Only Die Once. My way or the highway is by no way the right way to attain excellence. Complete trust in God, hard work, determination, discipline, dedication and persistence are the right ways.

ASSIGNMENT: Walk your life down to an adventure and look at him or her through the eyes and announce,                                                                                                “I mean no offence life but, i have decided i am going to stop being sad and start being full of love and light that will drive darkness out of the universe and i will be the salt that will give the earth its much needed taste. I will close my eyes to darkness and so i wont know how long it will last”                                                                                     SUBMIT THE ASSIGNMENT TO GOD.
